Holmegaard Glass Factory
History
The home of the famous Holmegaard products Fensmark (part of Holmegaard) is located. The company got its start in 1823, when Count Christian-Danneskjold Samse the Danish king's permission, a glass factory in Holmegaard Mose ("Holmegaard Bog") build petition. He died before the license was issued. But after his death, when permission was finally awarded his widow, Countess Henriette pursued Danneskjold-Samse the project and began production in 1825 of green bottles, moving on to table-glass within the first ten years.
most of their early work was derivative and inconsequential, but between the 1930s and 1980s, his fortunes by the designs of Jacob E. Bang transformed (1899-1965), Per Ltken (1916-1998) and Bang's son, Michael (1944 to 2002 ).
Today the company for its high quality products of Danish design famous.
Ltken Era Danish glass artist Per Ltken worked for Holmegaard from 1942 until his death in 1998, causing some the most beautiful pieces of factory and all-time classics such as "Idelle" series, "Ships glasses" and "Provence" Bowls.
The work of Pros Ltken still highly valued, especially in Scandinavia and in Denmark and Sweden in particular.
The arrival Ltken at Holmegaard marks a new beginning in the history of the factory that flourished again after several years of suffering. His aesthetic creations, in timeless designs fit the fashion of the 1960s in Denmark, and his creations into a great success throughout the decade and the 1970s
